I’m a 36 year-old Michigan girl. Yes, I use my hand to show people where I’m from. You would too.
I’m short and sarcastic, of Irish and Lebanese decent, and grew up going to Catholic education classes after school where I prayed that the good Lord would banish the childhood obesity and acne that plagued me. It didn’t happen. But thanks to unanswered prayers, I managed to make my way in the world on personality and brains. And I’m way cuter now.
Things I like: sushi, Ben Folds, Bravo, good hair, gossip, Intervention, staring at my pores, Ingrid Michaelson, reading good books, reading bad magazines, singing competitions that are not American Idol, vodka, IKEA, Apple (both the technology company and spawn of Gwyneth Paltrow), Mumford, Michigan summers, the Foo Fighters, sarcasm, profanity and New Girl.
Things I don’t: mayonnaise, Michigan winters, ambivalence, people who mumble, the word moist in any context, that Theresa lady from Real Housewives because she seems like a handful, mowing the lawn and motion sickness.
I am a proud Spartan with degrees in Communications and Human Resources. Day to day, I’m lucky enough to be making my living at my first love, writing, as a Senior Communication Specialist in corporate America. So, like, I write all day. And get paid to do so. Suckers. I also balance all that corporate stuff out with some freelance writing. And I love it.
I was a child bride (at 22, I was practically an infant) who grew up and found out the fairy tale isn’t always what it seems. So after 10 years, we called it and gave each other the gift of freedom. These days, I’m rediscovering myself one day at a time. Sometimes that means I do funny/stupid/embarrassing things. Actually, it means that most of the time.
I think that at my best I am a loyal friend, fun and funny (there’s a difference, you know…), and driven. I love to write. I love to read. I love to dance. I love to laugh. But mostly, I love to love…in the most non-porno sense, of course.
This blog is my attempt at scratching an itch I’ve had for some time. To write. To create. To share. I hope you’ll entertain my fancies. I promise to make it worth your time.

Didn’t you used to have a 3 girls and a cup of joe blog? Anyhow, I’ve enjoyed reading a few in this one.
Nope…wasn’t me! We had one called Why We Love This, but that’s sadly gone now. Poor, neglected blog.
Your blog is really cool Jen
Thanks so much. Really appreciate it…
